MORNING FOCUS FRIDAY  24TH OCTOBER

Trócaire Executive Director Éamon Meehan, from Kilmaley in Co. Clare, is in Sierra Leone this week as part of the organisation's response to the Ebola outbreak that has so far claimed over 4,500 lives. Éamonn spoke to Marian from Sierra Leon

Organ donner and Westbury native Johnny Paradise joined Marian this morning.Johnny  was inspired  to donate one of his kidneys after watching an RTE documentary about organ donation featuring  GAA pundit Joe Brolly. The recipient is a married man with three children who was unbale to work for the last number of years. Johnny is hoping he will help raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.

The winners in Clare's Best Young Entrepreneur Competition were revealed yesterday. Three winners in the categories of Best New Idea; Best Start-up Business and Best Established Business  were named and Clare FM's Mike Hurley  was on hand to get there reaction.

Our Friday panel were in studio to run the rule over the week’s main talking points. This week our panel consisted of Sharon Cahir of Cahir and Co Solicitors, John Quinlivan retired Shannon Development regional manager and Verona Tarpey of Ennis Rape Crisis Mid West. Amongst the topics the panel discussed with Marian were Water Meter Protests the recent Papal synod, the Cratleo Post Office closure,  Sinn Fein’s handling of Maria Cahill case and  this weeks poor Dail Behaviour.

And finally as always on a Friday we took a look at some of the events happening around the county this weekend including the  Willie Keane Festival Doonbeg  which runs from 24/10 to 27/10,  the Cooley Collins Festival  which runs from October 24th to 27th  and a  Fundraising event to raise much needed funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital this Saturday October 25th from 10am to 12pm at Clare Leisure World, Showground’s Rd, Ennis.
