Morning Focus Friday 4th June

On today's Morning Focus Marian began by chatting about all thing Garth Brooks.  She was joined on air by Noel Baker – Journalist with the Irish Examiner as Garth Brooks has issued an ultimatum in response to a decision to block two of his concerts in Dublin saying he'll play five concerts or none at all.  In a statement last night, the country singer said it would be impossible to choose which shows to do – and compared the situation to being forced to choose one child over another. Clare Fianna Fail TD Timmy Dooley was also on the line as he's calling for Government to intervene in the debate.

Ahead of the All Ireland hurling qualifier this weekend between Clare and Wexford, the Clare Hurling Supporters Group have issued a rallying call to all Banner supporters to turn out in force tomorrow afternoon.   It's the first time Clare will play a championship game in Cusack Park as All Ireland champions, and it's hoped that a big home support can create a white hot atmosphere.   Ahead of that, Clare FM's Derrick Lynch spoke to the Chairman of the Clare Supporters Group, Michael O'Neill.

This weekend sees the 9th annual Ennis street festival bring a range of acts to venues all over the town with this year's theme being "Dancing at the crossroads". There are gigs, craft workshops and performances for all ages.  One of the early events was a yoga laughter workshop, Clare FM's Jason Murphy went along to find out a little more.

110th Annual Show at THE SHOWGROUNDS ENNIS Sunday 6th July 2014

With a long and deep history, the Co Clare Agricultural Show Society has played an important part in the agricultural heritage of the county for well over 100 years.   Every year the annual county show attracts many competitors and spectators from far and wide.  With classes in horticulture, cattle, horses, dogs, jumping, driving, arts and crafts, the show provides a platform to showcase the best of horticulture and agriculture in all its forms.   Marian was joined in studio by Mary Stafford – PRO of The County Clare Agricultural Show, Joe Lillis – Head of the horse showing at County Clare Agricultural Show and Jimmy Quinn – Head of Showjumping at County Clare Agricultural Show to preview what happening this weekend.
