There is huge relief as a struggling West Clare business has ‘come back from the dead’ and will retain a scaled down enterprise

On Friday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with John O’Dwyer of O’Dwyer’s Building Suppliers and DIY Superstore, Kilrush

Concerns had been expressed last month as the long standing business in Kilrush prepared to shut its doors with the loss of over half a dozen jobs
O’Dwyer’s Building Suppliers and DIY Superstore on the Cooraclare Road in the West Clare Town was to close down at the end of March with seven staff facing redundancy, coming just months after the firm shut its base in Ennis.
However owner John O’Dwyer now insists that due to phenomenal public support the business will remain open, on a smaller scale
He is delighted that his fear of having to "dismantle a business that took 30 years to build" has been avoided
