INMO research confirms low staffing levels in Irish health service when compared to the U.K. and they assert that evidence shows that patient care must be compromised and Irish nurses are at risk of burnout

On Friday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Liam Doran, General Secretary of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation
He said that the INMO, arising from growing concerns about safe practice, has examined comparative staffing figures, in the UK and Ireland, and found that staffing levels on medical, surgical, elderly care wards and admission and assessment units in Irish hospitals are significantly below that of comparable wards in the United Kingdom.

Tourism Ireland has launched a new plan to attract 7.6 million visitors to Ireland next year
It’s targeting North America and Mainland Europe as key markets for 2013 – saying they will unlock tourism growth for Ireland
Niall Gibbons, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland also said the Gathering will be an important part of the tourism year – and it aims to attract 325 thousand visitors.
