Irish Water is to start installing water meters in County Clare in the coming weeks – already over 390,000 water meters have been installed around the country. This is the most ambitious nationwide metering programme of its type ever undertaken, with water meters being installed in all regions across the country at a rate of 27,000 per month. Advance notification of at least 14 days will be issued to each householder before meters are installed with information packs outlining the details of the installation process. There are no upfront costs for meters and water charges are due to be introduced in Q4 2014, with the first bills issuing in January 2015.Elizabeth Arnett Head Of Communications with Irish Water spoke to John. 

Clare County Council is set to proceed with legal action against telephone companies that have left phone kiosks in a "ruinous, derelict, and neglected" condition. The authority has confirmed it will pursue the companies after they failed to respond to a request to remove or restore the eyesore kiosks in Ennis town centre. Ger Dollard Director of Services Clare county Council and Cllr Mary Howard FG  discussed the issue with John.

The Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Alex White, last week launched the results of consumer research commissioned by Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week. This research shows low levels of consumer awareness of the dangers associated with Carbon Monoxide and the preventative measures that can be taken.   Exposure to CO can cause illness and even death – on average, six people in Ireland die each year from accidental CO poisoning according to figures from the HSE. Today Marks the start of Carbon Monoxide Awareness week.Ger Fallon Assistant Chief Fire Officer for  Co Clare spoke to John about this serious issue.
