Health insurance providers are preparing to offer a range of more basic plans for a reduced price in a bid to stem the flow of people giving up medical cover
But consumers are being warned the cut-price health plans will come at a cost in terms of the number of hospitals covered and also some procedures will also require extra payment from the patient

On Monday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Dermot Goode of www.healthinsurancesavings.ie who gave a run down of what these concealed differences are.

John spoke with Dermot Moran, Spokesperson for Barroughter, Kilmoylan, Ardraigue Bog Action Groups, who is supporting the turf cutters in Monivea and said the turf cutters have no intention of stopping.

The search is on to locate the least energy efficient home in Clare as part of an EU pilot study focusing on the impacts of successive energy efficiency upgrade programmes on the County’s housing stock
The LCEA, supported by Clare County Council, is conducting the Energy Performance Of Clare Homes (EPOCH) project and says it also is seeking to ascertain why the majority of owners of houses built prior to 2000 did not avail of funding under programmes such as the Better Energy Home and Greener Home schemes
Financial assistance towards energy efficiency works and professional energy guidance will be provided to the owners of homes deemed to be least energy efficient
