Businesses and residents in Broadford and the surrounding area have been granted a meeting with An Post this Friday – the Broadford Action Committee hope to restore postal services to the East Clare area
Around 150 people gathered for a public meeting in the village on Thursday night last to formulate a plan of action after the local post office closed its doors without warning a fortnight ago – with customers now having to travel to Tulla

On Monday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with PJ Mason – Committee Chairperson- who said  it’s vital a postmaster is returned to the Broadford area as it serves a huge catchment 

Joanne Maloney, a Broadford resident – maintained that the post office is a huge social attraction for villagers every Friday and that they need every social contact they can get- particularly the older people
There is a rich history to the post office – she said she doesn’t want to see that squandered and that it’s vital to keep the town alive
