Six new wind farms are to be built in counties Clare, Tipperary and Kilkenny – with funding provided by the European Investment Bank
The bank announced yesterday that it’s giving Bord Gais a loan of 155-million euro to support its clean energy initiative which includes a wind farm at Booltiagh which is situated between Kilmaley and Kilmihil.

On Thursday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Dave Kirwan, Managing Director of Bord Gais Energy, who welcomed the announcement and explained what exactly it will mean for the Clare site.

"New Beginnings-The New Normal" is an Irish survivorship support programme for people who have been affected by cancer run by the Marie Keating Foundation
It is taking place in the Templegate Hotel, Ennis this Saturday and is completely free of charge (they supply lunch) – it is open to men and women
The topics included in the  New Beginnings course include- fatigue, stress management, diet & exercise, fear of cancer returning, impact on family and friends etc
All of the Marie Keating Foundation services are provided free of charge and the collective aim is “making cancer less frightening by enlightening"
