On Tuesdays Morning Focus John spoke to Virginja Petrauskaite, Legal Officer with The Migrant Rights Centre.  A new report is warning Ireland may be imprisoning victims of slavery.  The Migrant Rights Centre's report on trafficking for cannabis cultivation, calls for an immediate review of all potential cases.  In January of this year, Clare Gardai uncovered seven separate cannabis grow houses and over 1.5 million euro worth of the drug in Kilkee, Mullagh, Carrigaholt, Tulla, Caher and Spancil Hill.  Five people from Poland and Vietnam were charged in connection with the discoveries.

Clare launch of Darkness into Light 2014 supported by Electric Ireland, Joan Freeman, CEO of suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House, will launch Darkness into Light 2014 with Electric Ireland in The Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis on Tuesday, 1st April at 6.30pm. Taking place on Saturday, 10th of May, Darkness into Light is a unique, early morning fundraising event which begins in darkness at 4.15am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking. Clare venues – Ennis and Kilrush.  John spoke to many people involved in this year’s event including Joan Freeman, CEO of suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House, Tom McEvoy, Ennis Pieta House who lost his brother to suicide and who now works with Pieta House and Sophie Ryan, volunteer Kilrush darkness into light run and lost her husband to suicide two years ago in July.
