The Newmarket on Fergus Community Centre is a good facility and the committee work hard to keep this facility maintained to a minimum health and safety standard to facilitate all of their clients young and old
This has been accomplished to date without any funding  as Geraldine Hansbury and Geraldine Cullinane explained when they joined John in studio
They are holding a sponsored Bingo night tomorrow – it’s 25 years since the late Larry Kennedy started the bingo in New Market on Fergus
Some of the people that attended the bingo back then still attend there every week
Geraldine thanked the community for their support and appealed to anyone interested in getting involved to contact her.

Frankie Coote, Clare ISPCA Warden, joined John in studio for his regular chat
This morning Frankie spoke about a surge in the amount of dogs coming into the pound and cases of abandonment
He also voiced farmers’ concerns about increases in the practice of lamping – he reminded people that they need licences to shoot foxes and this should never be done at night
