Experts say this summer is a "wash out" – with heavy rain and floods in parts over the last few weeks
Ireland hasn’t had a long, hot summer since 1995
Yesterday morning we heard from Clare farming representatives about the difficulties farmers are enduring due to the wet weather 

Prof Sweeney discussed the reasons the weather has been the way it has; what’s in store for the next few weeks and if this is down to climate change or just bad luck.

Brendan McMahon is also to inform the Foreign Minister the Government here wants the case re-examined after the acquittal of two men last week
Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore says the publication of the photographs was a gross invasion of privacy
Pat Breen TD – Chairman of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs said it is essential that Ireland’s Ambassador to Mauritius conveys the disgust felt by the Government and the Irish people following the publication of the photos.

The Government’s strategy of cuts is making those on lower incomes poorer while high earners become richer
That’s the finding of a report compiled by Social Justice Ireland
The independent organisation has used CSO figures – which show that the incomes of the poorest fell by 18 per cent in the last year, while incomes of the richest households rose by 4 per cent
