Clareman Sean Hehir yesterday became the first Irishman in 20 years to win the Dublin Marathon yesterday
The Kilkishen Runner follows in the footsteps of his coach Dick Hooper who was the first Irish man to win the race
Hehir finished in a time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 21 seconds, seeing off Dubliner Joe Sweeney who finished in the runner up position

Also – as Chairman of the Joint Policing Committee – Mayor Arkins encouraged people to attend a public meeting of the Joint Policing Committee that is being held at the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon on the 4th November at 8pm.

The number of drink driving offences across Clare have significantly dropped when compared to the same period last year
Gardai in the county made 5 drink driving arrestes this bank holiday weekend, that figure stood at 11 for the same bank holiday weekend last year
Officers reported no serious injury traffic accidents for the second year running, there was also no non serious traffic accidents this year while there was 2 in 2012
Sergeant Joe Downey, Crime Prevention Officer with the Clare Garda Division, joined Marian in studio and also appealed to the public for information on crimes committed in the past week
