It was a big weekend for sport in Clare with the Shinty Festival in Ennis, the County Final and also an historic occasion for Clare Camogie as they unveiled their own playing facilities in Doora on Saturday 
Fr McNamara Park will host all the counties domestic championship and league games from 2013 onwards and to celebrate the long awaited new development President of Ireland Michael D Higgins as well as GAA and Camogie presidents Liam O Neill and  Aileen Lawlor attended the ceremony with the pitch officially opened by Fr McNamara’s brother and sister, Tom and Eileen

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus we heard President Michael D Higgins speaking to Clare FM’s Kevin McGillicuddy on Saturday
He said he was looking ahead to the county final for Newmarket on Fergus but he described Saturday’s events as a great day for Clare Camogie. 

Superstorm Sandy is causing travel disruption in the areas affected, with a knock-on effect being experienced at Shannon Airport
Flights from Newark and JFK Airports, due to arrive this morning by United and Aer Lingus today, while British Airways has also cancelled it’s planned morning service from London to New York, which stops at Shannon
A scheduled United Airlines service from Shannon to Newark this morning has also been cancelled while passengers heading to other destinations in North America are likely to experience delays
Intending passengers are advised to contact their airlines as Niall Moloney, Operation Manager at Shannon Airport explained.

The Referendum Commission is an independent body that’s role is to explain the subject matter of referendum proposals, to promote public awareness of the referendum and to encourage the electorate to vote at the poll
On Saturday, November 10th you are asked to vote yes or no to a proposal to include in the Constitution a new Article 42A and at the same time remove the current Article 42.5.
If a majority of voters votes yes in this referendum, the existing Article 42.5 will be removed and a new Article 42A will become part of the Constitution. All other articles of the Constitution will remain in place.
If a majority votes no, there will be no change to the Constitution

A youth organisation has issued guidelines to fight cyberbullying
It follows the death of 13-year-old Erin Gallagher in Ballybofey in Donegal on Saturday after alleging she had been bullied in an online discussion forum.
SpunOut is advising young people to: ignore bullying and not to respond online, keep screenshot evidence and report incidents to a trusted adult
