A strike by more than 3000 junior doctors got underway at 51 hospitals around the country this morning
Up to 15-thousand patients look set to be affected as a result of the long running dispute between the HSE and the Irish Medical Organisation over long working hours faced by non-consultant hospital doctors
Those staging strike action have agreed to provide weekend cover for in-patients and emergency care

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Dr Niall Kelly, member of the Non Consultant Hospital Doctor Committee with the IMO from the picketline at University Hospital Limerick 

Fine Gael Senator Tony Mulcahy spoke about the outcome of the Seanad referendum and why he thought it failed
He said the focus now should be getting on with employment creation and economic stimulation.

The person responsible for bringing this screening to Clare -Toby Lee -spoke with John
Toby suffered with the condition during study and now has 25 years experience teaching in the area and works with both children and adults from 6 years and up

Local parent Fidelma Mooney has two children who are dyslexic was also instrumental in this event coming to Ennis
She spoke with John and said she is hoping to set up an association for Clare parents whose children have dyslexia.
