Clare’s businesses failed in their bid to secure a reduction in commercial rates for 2013
Clare County Councillors voted to freeze rates levels for another year as part of efforts to maintain levels of service, something which the county manager has warned is becoming increasingly difficult

Pat Kelly, Manager of the Skycourt in Shannon, who recently made a presentation to Clare County Councillors on the urgent need for a rate reduction for businesses, expressed disappointment at the council’s decision saying that businesses badly need their rates reduction to survive.

Emmy Award wining writer, actor and producer Alan Cooke – who is a Dublin native based in Clare joined John in studio to speak about his one man version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol – he performs the entire story – all 15 voices – himself
