Morning Focus Wednesday May 29

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Aidan Kenny, Assistant General Secretary- Teachers’ Union of Ireland  – a representative of TUI members at IT Tralee who said he believes academic staff there will welcome the decision of Flan Garvey to retire as its chairman.
26 members of staff there raised concerns that the former Mayor of Clare had plagiarised part of his thesis on the history of the parish of Inagh/Kilnamona, but Mr. Garvey was subsequently cleared of wrongdoing
He has now decided to retire as chairman despite previously insisting that he would stay in the role until 2016.

We also heard some of the comments made by Former Mayor of Clare, Chairman Tralee IT Flan Garvey speaking on this programme on May 14th.
