Morning Focus Wednesday October 24

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke was joined by Maria Mhic Mhenamin, spokesperson of
Parents for Children who is advocating a No vote in the upcoming Children’s referendum of November 10th and Caroline O’Sullivan, ISPCC Director of Services and spokesperson for the Yes for Children campaign. 

Yes for Children is a national campaign led by Barnardos, Children’s Rights Alliance, ISPCC and Campaign for Children calling for a YES vote in the children’s referendum
They believe that this referendum is an historic opportunity to ensure that this and future generations of children in Ireland are better protected, respected and heard
Yes for Children campaign will be arriving in Ennis and Ennistymon today

Parents For Children, the Christian Solidarity Party and the Alliance of Parents Against the State are urging people to reject the constitutional amendment
They say a ratification of the referendum on November 10th will give too much power to the State – which they say has previously failed to protect young people
