Aer Lingus says its legal advisors are examining strike notice issued by unions today
Staff say they’ll hold a two hour work stoppage on the 19th of November – unless the airline returns to the L-R-C for further talks on the company’s pension deficit
The action will see flights grounded at Shannon, Dublin and Cork airports
For its part, Aer Lingus is denying union claims that it walked away from the discussions last week
In a statement, the airline also says that it remains available for further talks

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Matt Staunton, National Secretary Semi State Division with IMPACT Trade Union explained the situation.

Students still waiting for grant approval face being shut out of essential college services such as libraries and computers
The delay in approving and paying out grants may also be contributing to a rise in demand for financial help from college hardship funds

The Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival Roadshow 2012 is  visiting the Glor Theatre in Ennis this Saturday
This is the first year that the Roadshow has run and its purpose is to screen documentary films on environmental and human rights themes in key regional venues around Ireland
One of the films to be screened is entitled Windfall (directed by Laura Israel, windfallthemovie.com) and they will be holding a Q&A  with the members of the audience and a local expert panel  featuring advocates of all sides of the wind energy debate  following the film’s screening
They will be joined on the day of the screening by local members of CREWE (Communities for Responsible Engagement with Wind Energy) to speak about wind energy, which has become a contentious issue in recent times
David Rane, Director of the Guth Gafa Film Festival, explained.

Paul Wolfe of Clare Citizens’ Information Service was in studio to answer listeners’ social welfare, employment and consumer law queries.
