On Wednesday’s Morning Focus John Cooke spoke with Brian O’Neill of the Ennis Chamber and the Rowan Tree Hostel and Café

Speaking on behalf of the business community in Ennis he said that the town council should be commended for providing a big screen for this Sunday’s match for the people of Clare who support every business in the town
He said it is a fantastic idea and will give families a place to come into to see the game, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Many Clare supporters are on the hunt for Croke Park tickets, with many getting frustrated at the weekend nears
Jim Butler in Killaloe spoke about his quest for tickets for this weekend’s final, as did Aisling in East Clare.

It’s hoped a Kilkee festival may get a boost in numbers following the removal of a Che Guevara mural
The iconic image which was promoting the annual Che do Bheatha Festival in the town was on an Ally Wall
While it was agreed at this weeks meeting of Kilkee Town Council that the mural was in clear breach of the Litter Pollution Act, Councillors decided that the mural be retained until after the upcoming festival.
However Clare County Council had scheduled the removal of the mural for Tuesday and this proceeded as scheduled
Mayor of Kilkee Paddy Collins and Johnny Redmond- President of Kilkee Chamber of Commerce- spoke with John
Maura Cusack in Liscannor contacted the programme to say she regretted the mural had been painted over as she thought that in itself was a tourist attraction.

Graveyard robberies may be considered one of the most heinous and insensitive crimes, but we hear of many incidents in which people fall victim to crime while visiting cemeteries in County Clare and throughout the region
In South Galway, CCTV and signs have been erected in some areas warning people to be aware of opportunistic thieves praying on their cars while they visit the graves of loved ones, particularly in Labane Cemetery near Ardrahan, where numerous incidents have been reported including last weekend
Sergent Patrick Fitzmaurice is from Gort Garda Station told Morning Focus listeners that it’s an issue of concerns at many public facilities including graveyards

John spoke with Ardrahan Councillor Michael Fahy who condemned this crime, saying the community are very upset by these recent events.

The Reverend Ed Bacon is an Episcopalian Priest in the Diocese of Los Angeles, and is well known as a regular contributor to the Oprah Winfrey Show, where he airs his progressive views on issues of faith and justice regardless of race, gender, faith, or sexual orientation.
He’s written extensively on these and other subjects and chose Ballyvaughan, in Co Clare to write some of his latest book entitled 8 Habits of Love.
John met with the Reverend Ed Bacon and started by asking how he came to launch his book in the Burren.
