Morning Focus Friday July 22nd

On today’s edition of Morning Focus, Green Party Councillor Brian Meaney and Fr. Brendan Quinlivan, Spokesperson for the Diocese of Killaloe discussed prayer – specifically the prayers said at the beginning of government and council meetings. Councillor Meaney feels Clare County Council should abolish the prayer before meetings as it has become an incantation rather than a meaningful expression. The Councillor says he respects all faiths and for this reason has a problem with the translation of the prayer however Fr.

The ESB’s West Wave Project has been selected by the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources as one of the projects to go forward for evaluation by the European Investment Bank under the EU New Entrant Reserve funding mechanism
The West Wave Project aims to develop the first wave energy project in Ireland by 2015 by generating an initial 5MW of clean renewable electricity from the plentiful wave energy resource available off the west coast of Ireland
