A garda investigation is underway after a man was found unconscious outside an Ennis housing estate in the early hours of this morning.
It’s understood a man in his early sixties sustained serious head injuries in the incident on the Gort Road.
Emergency services were alerted around 1.30 this morning, after a man was found unconscious at the entrance to the Aughanteeroe Housing Estate on the Gort Road in Ennis.
The man, in his early sixties, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where he’s being treated for serious head injuries.
It’s understood he remains in a critical condition.
The scene was sealed off until early this morning, but has now been cleared.
Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They’re appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time to contact them.
They’re particularly interested in speaking with taxi drivers, or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage.
