Breen Disappointed Single People Won’t Benefit form Undocumented Plan

Plans announced by US President Barack Obama to tackle the problem of undocumented residents are being welcomed across Ireland today. 

50,000 Irish people are living illegally in America presently with approximately 2,000 Clare natives amongst them.

The plan will allow married undocumented migrants who have been living illegally in the United States for five years and have US-born children to apply for three year work permits.

Chairperson of the Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee Deputy Pat Breen has welcomed the moves, but is disappointed it doesn't include single people.
