Clare Farming Representative Welcomes ‘Isolated’ BSE Case

A Clare farming representative has welcomed confirmation that a case of BSE in Co. Louth has been confirmed to be isolated.

The Department of Agriculture has confirmed that the suspected case is indeed one of Mad Cow disease.

Officials also say that 63 animals that were born and reared on the farm in question one year either side of the cow's birth and her 4 offspring have been slaughtered and disposed of.
