Clare Groups Receive Lotto Funding

Five Clare organisations are to share 60,000 euro in funding under the Department of Health's 2014 allocation of National Lottery funds.

Kilmaley Daycare Centre has been given 25,000 euro, which will go towards the cost of purchasing a replacement bus, while a wheelchair accessible bus will also be purchased by Rehabcare in Ennis.

The Clare Area Committee of the Irish Red Cross will purchase a support vehicle with their money, a men's shed project is to be delivered by the North West Clare Family Resource Centre and the local branch of arthritis Ireland has been given money towards weekly Tai Chi classes.

Separately, the latest winning lottery ticket was sold in county Mayo.

The ticket, a three euro quick pick, has scooped the weekend jackpot of over 2.9 million euro.

It was sold in Tesco, Silverbridge, Knock Road, Claremorris.
