Concern Over Clare Cattle Rustling

Clare farmers are being urged to be on alert amid a reported increase in cattle rustling.

Over 500 cattle have been reported stolen in the past 12 months, and local representatives say there have been some incidents in Clare and Limerick.

Owners of fragmented farms are said to be particularly vulnerable, as in those cases farmers are often living a number of miles away from their animals.

Cratloe farmer and General Secretary of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers' Association Eddie Punch says they're deeply concerned.
