A Clare Fine Gael Senator has criticised the local government changes implemented by his government.
It's one year since the changes took effect, and saw a reduction in the number of Councillors and the abolition of Town Councils in Ennis, Shannon, Kilrush and Kilkee.

However, Senator Martin Conway says this has led to an unworkable situation in some areas and is welcoming government plans for a review.
