Former Clare TD Would Consider Another Election Bid

Clare's former Labour TD says he would seek to run in a general election if there was one called in the near future.  

Michael McNamara was unsuccessful in his bid to retain his seat in the recent campaign and also failed in his bid to secure his party's nomination to run in the upcoming Seanad poll.

There have been calls from some party members for leader Joan Burton to step down following Labour disasterous election result which saw them secure just 7 seats.
