Health Watchdog Says Limerick Hospital Isn’t Adequately Assessing Patient’s Nutrition

University Hospital Limerick is one of three hospitals which the Health watchdog says are not adequately assessing patient's nutrition levels. 

HIQA has released new reports into care at UHL, Tallaght and Beaumont.

It's found ad hoc systems of ensuring patients are properly nourished and hydrated on admission to hospital and throughout their stay. 

Concern has also been raised about communication with patients on their food requirements during their time under medical care.
