67 Awaiting Admission To UHL Today – INMO

The INMO says University Hospital Limerick is more than two times busier than any other hospital in the country again today.

67 patients are awaiting admission at Dooradoyle this morning, 50 of them in its Emergency Departemnt – no other hospital has a total number of over 29.

The number is a decline from the 81 registered on Monday, a figure that prompted the INMO to highlight what it called “extreme” overcrowding, and the exhaustion and frustration of its members.

In response, the UL Hospitals Group says the number of people attending the Emergency Department is higher than the daily average of 2019, but insists that not all of the patients are waiting on trolleys in the Emergency Department.
