Cusack Park Upgrade Plans Revealed

Plans have been unveiled for a €2.3 million revamp of Cusack Park.

It's proposed to replace the roof and seating on the main stand, along with upgrades to the dressing rooms and toilet facilitates.

A new car park will be developed at the Cloister side of the grounds, which will provide an income for Clare GAA on non-match days. New turnstiles will also be installed, along with improved pedestrian access to alleviate congestion at the Francis Street entrances.

When work is complete, it's hoped it will bring the capacity to 20,000, an increase of over 5,000 from the present.

It's envisaged the work will begin before the end of the year.

New team managements were also ratified.

Donal Moloney's backroom team with the U21 hurlers will not be announced until the next meeting, while Neil Hawes, Michael O'Shea and Martin Brennan, father of Clare captain Gary, will take charge of the U21 footballers.

Kenny Morrisey will take up the role of minor hurling manager, with Eamon Fennessey, Martin Duggan and Alan Markham as selectors.

Kieran Kelleher was ratified as minor football manager, along with his selectors Mark Raftery, Paul Hickey and Ger Quinlan.
