Fitzgerald: League relegation won’t deter All Ireland ambitions

Clare hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald says relegation from Division 1A of the National Hurling League won't deter them from working towards another All Ireland title.

Yesterday's 1-18 to 1-17 loss to Kilkenny sees the Banner dropping to Divison One B of the Allianz National Hurling League for 2016, with a late Cillian Buckley effort sealing the win for Brian Codys side.

Fitzgerald says he's proud of his players performance.

Meanwhile Kilkenny boss Brian Cody said with both sides fighting for their lives in Division 1A, it led to an exciting game.

He said neither team wanted to make the drop

Elsewhere Tipp boss Eamon O'Shea says they won't be appealing the red card given to full forward Seamus Callanan in their quarter final win over Offaly.

He was dismissed for an off the ball incident and will miss their semi final clash with Waterford on April 19th.

Nowlan Park will host a double header for the league semi finals, with Cork taking on Dublin.
