Semi Final Places Up For Grabs In Clare SHC

Clooney/Quin will look to reach a first semi final of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship in 75 years this weekend.

Eire Óg provide the opposition for Fergie O’Loughlins side, who last reached the semi final in 1942, which was also the last time they were crowned champions.

County star Peter Duggan is likely to be to central to the Clooney/Quin effort once more, after racking up 2-35 in their three championship games to date.

That one has a 2.45pm throw in at Cusack Park on Saturday

After that, 2014 champions Cratloe go up against their neighbours and 2015 champions Sixmilebridge for a place in the semi finals.

They also met at this stage two years ago when the Bridge came out on top by a single point en route to the title.

Cratloe boss Alan Neville feels there won’t be much between the sides this time either

They start on Saturday in Cusack Park at 4.15pm while Ballyea and Newmarket square off at 6pm
