The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is more than double that of any other facility across the country.
The latest INMO figures show there were 107 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, 40 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 60 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when there were 447 patients left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
