Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and on Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Caroline Moloney, founder of 3for3 charity and Ciara Jones, a breast cancer survivor.

Almost a quarter (23%), of women diagnosed with breast cancer in Ireland are between the age of 20 and 50. One in nine women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, with 3,704 new cases being reported every year.

The 3for3 Charity will be doing its walk of Limerick City’s Three Bridges later this month, to raise funds for the Symptomatic Breast Unit at University Hospital Limerick.
