The price of a Clare property has continued to rise while the number of sales have plummeted in the last year.
The latest figures from the CSO show the median price for a property in the county was €220,000 in September.
The median in this case refers to the middle point of actual prices paid for properties in Clare between the least and most expensive.
The average revenue return from a property in Clare has risen by €2,500 since September last year.
Meanwhile the number of properties sold in the county has had a stark drop as only 49 sales were completed, 38% less than last Septembers figures.
In addition, their was only one new dwelling purchased in Clare at a price of €390,000 while existing dwellings had an average price of €216,500.
First time buyers in Clare paid a median price of €238,300 in September while former owners paid €193,500 and non occupiers paid €227,000 on average.
The cheapest place to buy a house in September was the Shannon region at an average of €186,000, while Ennis was the most expensive at €240,000.
In the Kilrush Electoral area, the average price of a house jumped by €91,000 from last September’s figures to €211,000.
