Delegates from the clubs of Clare GAA will gather at the Auburn Lodge Hotel this evening for the 2015 Annual Convention.

A new chairman will be elected, while a review of the intercounty scene this year will also be delivered.

Outgoing chairman Michael McDonagh is expected to deliver a warts and all review of the intercounty year to delegates after promising to undertake it at the September meeting of the board.

It will be his last act as chairman, as O'Callaghans Mills clubman Joe Cooney is the only nominee to take over the role.

That leaves the vice chairman position vacant, with a contest expected here.

Among the motions to be debated on the night include calls for a football discussion forum to be established, changes to the structures of hurlings Clare Cup, and moves to avoid repeat pairings in the senior championships.

The meeting gets underway this evening at the Auburn Lodge Hotel from 6.30pm.

Meanwhile, ahead of tonight's meeting, there are calls for steps to be taken to ensure more games for club players.

Joint Clare U21 football manager Neil Hawes says he feels it's unfair for players to have very few games, and thinks it's something that needs to be addressed.

The St Breckans club man says the current structures leave the club player in limbo for much of the year.
