Visiting Restrictions Implemented At UHL Due To Norovirus Outbreak

Visiting restrictions have been implemented at University Hospital Limerick.

Management at UHL made the decision after outbreaks of Norovirus on several wards at the facility.

Exceptions will be applied for parents visiting children, along with a case by case assessment for those assisting patients suffering from issues such as dementia, or those who are critically unwell or at the end of life, with just one visitor allowed in each situation.

The UL Hospitals Group are assuring patients and their loved ones that all appropriate infection control precautions are being followed to minimise the risk of spreading infection among staff and patients within their health facilities.
