Fitzgerald Pleased With Early Season Progress As Clare Turn Thoughts To National Football League Opener

Clare football manager Mark Fitzgerald is pleased with the progress his side are making as thoughts turn to their National Football league opener.

A 3-18 to 1-7 win over Waterford handed the Kerry native his first competitive win as Banner boss, with Clare needing Waterford to record a big win over Cork next weekend if they’re to reach the final.

Clare’s goals came through a Dermot Coughlan brace along with one for Darren O’Brien, while Aaron Griffin landed 0-7 for the winners.

Fitzgerald says its important players grow in confidence as the season progresses.
