The Clare Museum has been hailed as one of the best managed in the country.
The museum is one of seven which has been honoured by the Heritage Council Museum Standards Programme for Ireland.
They recognise high standards of management, care of collections and visitor services.
The Clare Museum has been awarded interim accreditation under the scheme, and is the only facility outside of Leinster to be honoured in this way.
