Sadness has been expressed following reports that The oakwood Arms Hotel in Shannon is in receivership.
Stephen Tenant of Grant Thornton was appointed receiver earlier this month but the hotel is continuing to trade as normal.
There are currently 50 people employed there and there has been no notification of any job losses.
Both the receiver and representatives of the Oakwood Arms Hotel have declined to comment.
Local Sinn Féin Councillor Mike Mc Kee says its sad news for the local community.
