Body Found In Search For Missing Ruan Man

A body has been found in the search for a missing Ruan man this afternoon.

The discovery was made by members of Clare Civil defence shortly before half past two.

65-year-old Michael Vaughan from Moyree was reported missing yesterday after family members became concerned for his safety. He was last seen in Ennis around lunchtime on Wednesday.

A search operation including Gardaí, Clare Civil Defence, the Shannon-based rescue helicopter and volunteers from Doolin Coastguard has been taking place today along fields and roads in the Moyree area.

Shortly before half past two this afternoon the body of a man was discovered on flooded land by members of Clare Civil Defence.

The body has since been removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem examination. Gardaí say they are not treating the death as suspicious.

The search for the missing man has since been stood down.
