Gardaí are advising motorists to drive with care this morning as snow and ice weather warning remains in place for Clare this morning.
There has been a widespread frost overnight and temperatures have dipped to minus three degrees in certain parts.
Snow showers have affected parts of west Munster, Connacht and West Ulster – leading to accumulations of 3cm in some areas.
The AA say that stopping distances are up to ten times longer when driving in snow and ice and is advising motorists to slow down.
