Controversial 1916 Monument Opens

A controversial remembrance wall, which lists the names of all those who died during the Easter Rising of 1916, was unveiled at Glasnevin cemetery in Dublin today.

Hundreds of people gathered at the cemetery for an interfaith service.

The Acting Tasoiseach Enda Kenny laid a wreath and a minute's silence was held during the event,

Controversy had arisen over the inclusion of the names of British soldiers and a number of people protested outside the ceremony today.

A teenage boy was arrested after scuffles broke out between protestors. The teenager has been released without charge.
