The Ennis-based CEO of Safe Ireland says thousands of women are living in silence with a serious threat to their lives.
It comes as domestic abuse victim Tara Bryd, who's boyfriend has been jailed for attacking her with sugar-laced boiling water, has spoken out, warning women to leave violent or possessive men.
Safe Ireland says 80 per cent of women who suffer domestic violence, don't report it.
