A multi-agency rescue is underway in Quilty tonight after reports that a car entered the water off of the pier there.
The alarm was raised at around 8:00, and divers have already entered the water.
Other emergency services including Gardaí, fire personnel, the rescue helicopter and local units of the Irish Coast Guard are also in attendance.
It's not yet known how many people, if any, were inside the car when it entered the water.
Update (10:00 pm): The Valentia Coastguard has confirmed that no persons have been found inside the car. Emergency services remain on-site at present.
