Alterations to the Eircode system will see addresses in Clare, which were previously mislabelled as other counties, reverted to their geographic address.
Following the launch of the service, a number of addresses in Shannon, Killaloe, and Whitegate were listed as Limerick, while several areas in the north of the county presented as Galway.
Eircode was required to use the official postal address, which resulted in the problem, but following negotiations with the Department of Communications on its effectiveness, that will now change
