Nurses say the region's main hospital is suffering from the highest levels of overcrowding in the country once again today.
Figures from the INMO show 38 people are waiting for beds, 26 of those in the emergency department.
The highest number recorded elsewhere in the country is 31 at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore.
Overall, 349 people are waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
