Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann officially gets underway in Ennis today.
President Michael D. Higgins will formally open the festival this afternoon, following a parade through the town centre.
The Fleadh is the world's largest traditional music event, and 400,000 people are expected to visit Ennis from today to Monday August 22nd.
The Mayor of Ennis, Councilor Ann Norton, has hailed the sense of excitement in the town.
