The Sports Minister Shane Ross has said he will consult the Attorney General following his meeting with the Olympic Council of Ireland on the Rio ticket touting scandal.

The OCI has rejected a Government request to add independent members to its internal investigation team into the scandal.

The controversy started after Irish man Kevin Mallon was arrested in Rio with hundreds of Olympic tickets earmarked for team Ireland.

Minister Ross says the OCI won't provide any information until a criminal case by Brazilian authorities concludes.
