Huge weekend for Clare senior sides

It may not be spoken about publicly but Michael Mc Dermott and Davy Fitzgerald are both under pressure this weekend ahead of two key games.

The pressure on both sides is different but the cost of failure come Sunday evening will be no less devastating.

If Clare fail to beat Limerick then its going to be next to impossible to get out of Division Four.

It will also probably mean the end for Michael Mc Dermott as Clare boss as Clare have almost no chance of making any serious impact  in Munster or the All Ireland series.

For Davy Fitzgerald the pressure is internal-he needs to see his side show that last week’s 14 point win over Limerick was not just a fluke.

No Conor Mc Grath means Clare will be lacking a cutting edge but Mc Grath this spring will be a marked man and so Clare need to come up with other solutions to their attacking problems if he is bottled up.

Tipperay have problems of their own but there is no doubt that all eyes will be on the home side and to see if they can manage a first piece of silverware under new man Davy Fitz.
